Guide to choosing the BACKREST CUSHION

To CHOOSE the cushioning for a BACKREST made in EXPANDED, it is important to consider these FOUR PARAMETERS:

the THICKNESS of the cushion. It is important to know that foam rubber increases in rigidity as the thickness increases. This is why it is important to relate the type of foam to the desired thickness to choose the type of comfort you want.

the HEIGHT of the pillow. For optimal comfort, softer foams should be used as the backrest height increases.

there FEELING when leaning. More welcoming or more supportive depending on your preferences and in accordance with the choice of seat cushion.

there DENSITY of the foam. Density identifies the specific weight of the foam rubber and is measured in kg/m3: the duration of the initial characteristics of the product and the weight of the cushion depend on it.

"STEP BY STEP" - THE STEPS TO CHOOSE

1. Choice of shape

In the BACKREST section select the shape that interests you among the 7 Shapes of Cushions proposals and continue with the configuration.

3. Insertion of measurements

Enter the measurements following the letters in the figure relating to the shape of the cushion. Each measurement shows some information in the blue pop-up (the).

In general for all shapes:

- TO corresponds to the measure of the DEPTH' of the pillow

- B corresponds to the measure of the LENGTH of the pillow

- C corresponds to the size of the HEIGHT of the cushion and generally a backrest is never less than 20-30 cm.

- d, e, f, g These are the measurements that, depending on the shape, determine the rounding or the inclination.

The THICKNESS and HEIGHT bands of a BACKREST are indicatively:

- low thickness up to 15 cm and medium/high thickness from 16 to 30 cm

- minimum height up to 30 cm and maximum height over 30 cm.

It is possible to order cushions of large size.

Lengths up to 200 cm are made in a single block, beyond this measure the cushioning will be glued in several parts.

4. Choice of foam

Choose the type of foam, first selecting the series (which groups together homogeneous typologies) and then the density based on the information that you find detailed activating individual images.

Each foam density has an indication regarding the creation of a soft/welcoming backrest or rigid/supported.

To make SOFT backrests we propose the following expanded:

- 23 Kg/M3 Soft High Quality Series
- 30 Kg/M3 Soft High Quality Series

To make STIFFER backrests but still comfortable, we offer the following expanded:

- 21 Kg/M3 Medium Standard Series

- 42 Kg/M3 Medium High Resilience Series

5. Adding a layer of resin (optional)

The resinated it is a layer of polyester wadding with a weight of 100 or 200 g/m2.

It is used to give a more rounded appearance to the cushion, make it softer to the touch and facilitate the insertion and removal of the fabric covering. Furthermore, being white, it makes the color of the foam neutral, which can be seen through the transparency.

It is applied exclusively to the upper and lateral faces of the cushion.

6. Adding a Fabric Cover (Optional)

If you want, you can cover the cushion with a tissue of our collections in different compositions and colors (plain and patterned). By activating the individual images of the fabrics you will find a detailed description.

Generally all the fabrics in our collections can be washed in water at a temperature of 30°.

Fabrics composed partly of cotton may suffer from slight shrinkage and for these we recommend dry cleaning.
